We use these terms to refer to sizes, with Tournament being the larger of the two. The sizes of each item can be found on the item description page.
Tabletop boards have a rigid wooden frame that does not fold. Attaché cases fold for storage and have storage compartments for the accessories.
The Classic Blue set is one of our entry level sets and is priced very attractively. It ships with plastic cups and opaque dice. The Anchor Blue set has an upgraded textile exterior and ships with leather cups and pearl dice.
We no longer cover the center bar of any sets due to feedback from customers.
Click on the word “Custom” on the top left of our home page. This is a great place to start, as it will walk you through the available options and their costs. Clicking enter at the end will generate an email to us with your choices. We’ll have our designer do a visual mockup for you to approve or make changes to before your design is finalized.
Not to worry, Crisloid can refurbish your board. Please note that while we revamp boards we are careful to protect the character that the board has developed from years of play. We can also replace handles, fields, bumpers, hardware and polish checkers. So don’t throw away your board, put it in good hands and send it over to Crisloid! Yes, we ship internationally on a regular basis. We typically ship via USPS, and parcels are passed on to the postal service in the destination country. The postage calculator will display the costs in your cart once you have chosen the desired country and entered the appropriate postal code. If you are ordering multiple items the calculator might return a high number. Please contact us if that is the case; we might be able to combine shipments to save you money. We cannot combine backgammon sets, however; each set will ship in its own box, so shipping two sets will cost twice as much as shipping one set.
International shipping costs cover transportation only and do NOT include customs clearance charges, duties, VAT, or other fees that the customer might encounter upon delivery. We have no way of knowing what these charges will be in advance, and paying them is the responsibility of the recipient.
Please be aware that USPS shipments are currently facing transportation delays due to issues related to COVID-19. Some shipments are delivered with minimal delays, while others encounter significant delays that add weeks or even months to the expected transit time. We are seeing that some packages are not being scanned and tracked through their transit progress. Once a shipment leaves our hands we have no control over its progress, and we don’t have access to more information than is shown on the tracking page. The good news is that all packages are eventually being delivered, albeit not always in the expected time frame.
Finally, while it is not currently listed as an option in the cart, we now offer DHL Express service for international shipments. This cost is usually about the same as for USPS Priority International. DHL service is faster than both USPS Priority International and Priority Express service, especially right now. However, some of our customers have indicated that they face higher costs on the receiving end and sometimes increased hassles getting their package. Again, we have no way of knowing in advance what fees you might face. If, knowing this, you would like us to ship your order via DHL, just put a note in the box on the bottom of the checkout page to this effect. If the cost for DHL will be substantially more than the USPS Priority International cost in your cart, then we will be in touch to discuss.

If you would like to return an item, please call or email us. There is a 15% restocking fee for all items. The customer is responsible for paying return postage and securely packing all items so they return in like-new condition. Damaged items may be assessed an additional fee. Custom orders are final sale. All returns must be received within two weeks of initial receipt of item.
If you ordered any of our marbleized checkers, they will each be unique in the swirl pattern. This is because we hand-pour and color all of our checkers, so from batch to batch there will be unpredictable variations that make your checkers unique and beautiful. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Because every component of a Crisloid classic game is handmade in our shop in Providence, RI, most backgammon sets should ship about 3 weeks from the receipt of your order. Mah Jong sets involve much more detailed effort and can take 6 to 8 weeks or longer to ship. Please refer to each item page for specific information. If you have a “can’t miss” situation, please call us immediately and we’ll find a solution together.

We ship via UPS and USPS. We consider all the important factors when deciding and will forward you a tracking number when it’s generated. Please keep in mind that UPS will not deliver to a P.O. Box.
